EEI's Emergency Response Awards recognize member companies that put forth outstanding efforts to restore service promptly to the public following a storm or natural disaster.
The awards are announced in two categories: Emergency Recovery Award (for companies directly impacted) and Emergency Assistance Award (for companies that come to the aid of another company).

Selection
Selections will be based on a company’s ability to respond to a crisis swiftly and efficiently, overcome difficult circumstances, utilize unique or innovative recovery techniques, communicate effectively with customers, and restore service promptly.

Award Recipients
Emergency Recovery Award
Winners in this category are recognized for their exceptional efforts to restore power in the wake of severe storms striking their service territories. These companies suffer substantial—and in some cases—repeated damage, and do an outstanding job restoring power under adverse circumstances.
Emergency Assistance Award
Winners in this category are recognized for outstanding assistance to fellow utilities struck by disaster events. These companies journey many miles to weather-stricken areas—providing equipment, workers, and expert assistance to rebuild lines, replace poles, and help get the lights back on.
