Jim Owen is Executive Director, Member Relations and Meeting Services, at the Edison Electric Institute. Mr. Owen’s responsibilities include management of EEI’s member relations programs, as well as supervision of EEI’s Board of Directors conferences and the EEI annual convention.

Previously, Mr. Owen served as Senior Director of Media Relations at EEI, where he managed EEI’s earned media outreach on a wide range of public policy issues, as well as coordination with EEI’s member company communicators.

Before joining EEI in 1996, Mr. Owen served as managing editor of the Environment & Energy Weekly Bulletin, a Capitol Hill-based newsletter focusing on Congress. Prior to that, Mr. Owen worked as an editor and correspondent for Hearst Newspapers bureaus in New York and Washington. In those posts, he covered Congress, state and national politics, energy and financial issues.

Mr. Owen is a graduate of the University of Iowa, and lives in Arlington, Virginia, with his wife Carole and their son Daniel.
