Brian L. Wolff is Senior Vice President at Edison Electric Institute (EEI), and is responsible for managing the Government Relations, Political and External Affairs, and Communications departments for the Institute. The External Affairs group integrates EEI’s direct lobbying, grassroots outreach, coalition building and strategic communications functions. Mr. Wolff’s role is critical in strengthening the issue management process and advocacy efforts of EEI to meet the growing opportunities and challenges facing the electric utility industry. Prior to joining EEI in 2009, Mr. Wolff served as a Capitol Hill strategist for the U.S. House of Representatives and has served under Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, the Honorable Robert T. Matsui (D-CA), Honorable Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), and Honorable Chris Van Hollen (D-MD). He also served as finance and taxation legislative aide to former Senator David H. Pryor (D-AR). He worked in business development at Cassidy & Associates; and worked as an advisor to countless state and federal campaigns. He began his career in Washington as a producer and copy editor for the Washington Bureau of Cable News Network (CNN). Mr. Wolff is an Arkansas native and a 1988 graduate of the University of Arkansas. He holds a BA in Economics and Journalism and an Executive MBA from the University of California at Berkeley. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government.
He is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and he serves on the Public Affairs Institute Board of Directors. He is Executive Vice President of the Edison Foundation. He serves on the Ambassadors Ball Committee of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. He is also a Board Member of the Roosevelt Institute and serves on the Executive Committee of the Institute.
