Tour of Historic Beacon Hill
Tuesday, June 13, 2017
9:30 am- 2:00 pm
Catch a rare glimpse into the private homes of Beacon Hill, Boston's most charming enclave.  These homes, not ordinarily open to visitors, offer some very special art collections and decorating styles.  While exploring "the Hill" on foot, you'll pass its Federal Period and Greek Revival townhouses made famous by their blue-blooded "Boston Brahmin" owners.  These brick townhouses are filled with priceless antiques and ingenious contemporary interior design solutions to the oddities of 1830’s kitchens.  You will hear wonderful stories about these historic houses and the traditions of old Beacon Hill – the Louisburg Square Bellringers, lavender windowpanes, "rich men's" herringbone sidewalks, and more!

After your tour you will dine at Hampshire House, a historic Georgian Revival mansion in Beacon Hill.  There you’ll enjoy a private feast in the Library.  Carved wood paneling, brass accents, and a marble fireplace create a turn-of-the-century ambience, while full-length windows provide a fabulous view overlooking Boston’s Public Garden.
