The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) and the American Gas Association (AGA) are pleased to offer the course, Advanced Public Utility Accounting – September 17-20, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta Hotel.
 
This highly respected, 4-day program is an intensive course focusing on complex and specific advanced accounting and industry topics as well as timely accounting issues related to deregulation and competition as they affect regulated companies in the changing and increasingly competitive environment.  Due to the advanced nature of the material, participants should be experienced or knowledgeable in utility accounting and the ratemaking process.
 
The individual elements of the course are taught by expert instructors and leaders in the field of utility accounting.  The course is held in conjunction with the EEI/AGA Introduction to Public Utility Accounting and the Utility Internal Auditor’s Training courses and is open to the general public. The program is designed to include several general sessions that all participants will attend and breakout sessions that address topics tailored specifically for the introductory and advanced levels.

Registration Information – Advanced to Public Utility Accounting
 
Enrollment is limited and advanced registration is required. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline for enrolling is Friday, August 31, 2012. Online registration will be confirmed by e-mail.
 
Group Rates apply (per person) to three (3) or more individuals attending from the same company. Three or more attendees per company must submit registration forms by mail or fax to Kim King at (202) 508-5542.
Fees include instructional materials, breakfasts, lunches and receptions.

CPE Information
 
Recommended CPE Credits:  approximately 28 hours
In accordance with the standards of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors, CPE credits are granted based on a 50 minute hour.
 
The objective of this course is to provide an advanced knowledge and understanding of public utility accounting fundamentals, practices and issues in the electric and gas industries. The course is designed for utility industry professionals in accounting, finance, auditing and other financial areas.   Instructional Method: Group-Live; Meeting Prerequisite: None; Course Level: introductory; Preparation: None; Category Subjects: Accounting, Communications, Finance, Specialized Knowledge & Applications and Taxation.
 
Edison Electric Institute is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.  State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses of CPE credit.  Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be addressed to the National Registry of CPE sponsors, 150 Fourth Avenue North, Suite 700, Nashville, TX 37219-2417 or by visiting the web site: www.nasba.org
