  • This meeting is open to committee members and any employee of an EEI or AGA member and associate member company. Typical members attending this meeting include middle or upper accounting management from the general accounting area, plant accounting managers and depreciation specialists. This three-day joint EEI/AGA meeting provides a forum for members to discuss current issues in the natural gas and electric utility industries and an opportunity for professional development. This meeting features joint committee presentations followed by breakout sessions for Corporate Accounting and Property Accounting. Industry professionals and leaders in the field of utility accounting issues present individual elements. Attendees are encouraged to attend presentations of interest in different breakout sessions.

    Only employees of AGA and EEI member and associate member companies may attend.

    Meeting Cancellation Policy
    Registration fees will be refunded minus a $100 administration fee if notification of cancellation is received on or before Friday, November 6, 2015.     The room rate per night for those attending the EEI Accounting Committee Meetings is $199 plus taxes single/double occupancy per night, $219 plus taxes triple occupancy per night, and $239 plus taxes quadruple occupancy per night.  Refer to the EEI Accounting Committee Meetings when making your reservation to get the meeting group rate per night. Room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes in effect at the time of check-out (currently 12.27%).  The hotel accepts all major credit cards. The EEI Accounting Committee Meetings room block is scheduled to be released after 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Reservations made after October 21, 2015 will be subject to availability at existing hotel rates.

  • In Phoenix in November, the normal high temperatures average a high of 76°F/25°C and a low of 52°F/11°C with monthly average rainfall of 0.7 inches.  Please pack accordingly.

  • There are two Sunday morning activities being offered as follow:

    CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF ATTENDANCE - Option 1 - Tour of the Desert Botanical Gardens and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West
    Cost per person is $75 and estimated duration is approximately 4.5-5 hours
    This tour will depart the hotel at 8:00 am for the Desert Botanical Gardens where you will enjoy the wonders of nature at this renowned desert museum featuring desert plants.  At the gardens, we will take a 1 hour guided Desert Discovery Tour with Ethnobotany focusing on people’s interactions with desert plants.  After our time at the gardens, we will depart for Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West, Wright’s beloved winter home.  Taliesin West is a national landmark nestled in the desert foothills of the McDowell Mountains outside of Scottsdale, AZ.  At Taliesin West, we will take a 1.5 hour guided tour of the property.

    The deadline to sign-up for this event is November 6, 2015.  The minimum required attendance for this tour is 15 to qualify for the private guided tours at each venue and group discounts.  If a minimum of 15 do not register for this tour, the tour unfortunately will be cancelled.

    The Option 1 Tour has been cancelled since the minimum attendance of 15 was not met.  The Option 2 Tour is still available and the minimum attendance has been met.

    Option 2 - Hummer Tour through the Sonoran Desert
    Cost per person is $100 and estimated duration is 4.5-5 hours
    The Hummer Tour will depart the hotel at 8:00 am for the Sonoran Desert with breathtaking vistas, as you tour ghost towns and Native American ruins.  This will be a true off-road experience on challenging terrain as you explore the mountains, canyons, and rivers along the foothills of the Bradshaw Mountains.

    Note: No open-toed shoes are allowed on the tour.  Also, waivers will be provided by Arizona Hummer Tours for participant's signatures at departure.

  • An Evening at the Heard Museum

    On Monday evening, we will have a private event at the Heard Museum which is an internationally recognized American Indian art and history museum.  Our event will be located in the museum’s Central Courtyard, weather permitting, and will include a buffet dinner, open bar, live Native American entertainment, guided tours of the galleries for a portion of the event, and self-guided access to the galleries throughout the event.

    Registered spouses and guests are welcome to attend this event.
