Description: An unmanned aerial vehicle, commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot abroad. Not long ago, drones were considered to be used largely for military use. However, rapid advances in controls, batteries and other systems have quickly expanded the use of unmanned aircraft, opening up new and exciting opportunities for the electric industry. Key applications for UAS include transmission and distribution inspections, environmental assessments, generation facilities inspection, emergency response/disaster recovery, and physical security. This webinar will take a look at the new developments, opportunities, and challenges of drone use in the U.S. and abroad including current and future applications of drones and the legislative and regulatory landscape of drone use.
