Environmental Health & Safety Auditing Task Force Meeting

  • The EEI Environmental Health & Safety Auditing Task Force meeting will be held on September 29-30, 2016 at Xcel Energy’s Central Region Headquarters located at 1800 Larimer St., Denver, Colorado.

    On Thursday, September 29, we will begin at 8:00 a.m. at Xcel Energy’s Central Region Headquarters in Room 3B and finish approximately by 5:00 p.m. On Friday, September 30, we will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude our meeting no later than noon.

    A block of rooms has been secured at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver located at 1717 Champa St., Denver, Colorado. The hotel is conveniently located approximately 10 minutes (walking) from Xcel Energy’s Central Region Headquarters and 40 minutes from the Denver International Airport. Cab fare from the airport to the hotel is approximately $60 or $25 if using Super Shuttle. Alternatively, one can take the “A” Train from DIA to Union Station in lower downtown Denver ($9). Trains run every 15 minutes, and the trip takes about 40 minutes. From there, you can take the 16th Street Mall Shuttle bus (free) to Champa St. and walk to the hotel. For the return trip, Union Station is about a 10-minute walk from Xcel’s office, and trains run every 15 minutes.

    Please call the Kimpton Hotel Monaco at 800-397-5380 to make your reservations before the room block cut-off date of September 14, 2016. Refer to “EEI Environmental Health & Safety Meeting” when making reservations in order to receive the group rate.

    Please note: EEI strongly encourages you to make reservations at the contracted hotel. If the room block commitment is not met, EEI will face financial penalties and this can affect the location and cost of future meetings.

    All EEI members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Attire for the meeting is business casual. In addition, please note that attendance at the EEI meeting may be eligible toward continuing education credits to maintain Board of Environmental, Health & Safety Auditor Certification (BEAC), and possibly other relevant certifications.

    A copy of the draft meeting agenda has been posted to the EEI EH&S Auditing Workroom. Please note that it may be necessary to modify the day or time of particular speakers in order to accommodate other agenda changes so please make your travel arrangements so you can participate in the entire meeting.

    The Task Force is an ongoing EEI member service providing value-added products and services designed to assist shareowner-owned electric utilities improve their environmental health & safety auditing programs. It does so by advocating and obtaining public policies that allow utilities to conduct environmental health & safety audits in a manner consistent with established or desired procedures for effective self-evaluation. The Task Force also provides information and training to assist EEI member companies in improving their environmental health & safety auditing programs.
