Inaugural International Day - Friday, February 5, 2016

The inaugural EEI International Day provided attendees the opportunity to learn about the history of EEI’s International Programs and how EEI engages with electric power companies and industry stakeholders around the world.  The luncheon included authentic cuisine prepared by EEI staff and DC-based international restaurants.
 
Representatives from EEI’s International Members provided brief presentations on their companies, as well as their strategic plan moving forward.  Presenters included executives from State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) and Électricité de France S.A. (EDF), as well as a video presentation from CEMIG (Brazil).

Inaugural International Utility Executive Summit (IUES) - Wednesday, April 6, 2016

More than 120 international energy executives, embassy represenatives and government officials gathered in Washington in April for EEI's inaugural International Utility Executive Summit. Éric Martel, President & CEO of Hydro-Québec, delivered the opening address and Michael Yackira, former President & CEO of NV Energy and former EEI Chairman, moderated the opening panel, which featured one-on-one conversations with Mr. Martel and Peter Gregg, President & CEO of Enersource Corporation.

Participants at the Summit discussed the transformation impacting the global power sector, as well as pathways to the future for electric power companies. Panelists shared their insights and outlook on the challenges and opportunities that will shape the strategic direction of their companies
