International Membership Application

Who Can Join

EEI's International Program provides the critical link that brings together electric utilities around the world with the U.S. electric utility industry. This special membership category offers electric utilities outside the United States the opportunity to become members regardless of ownership form (government, private or investor-owned).

Membership Cost

Membership costs vary by size and type of company applying for international membership.  As of 2006 annual dues are based on the following factors:

Operating/Integrated Utility Company 

I. Transmission & Distribution Component: Total Average number of customers served at end of a fiscal year; Total revenue.

II. Generation Component: Generation Owned Capacity

Generation Utility Company

I. Generation Component: Generation Owned Capacity

II. Transmission Component: Total Revenue

Transmission Utility Company

I. Transmission Core Component: Total Revenue

II. Transmission Component: Year-End Owned/Leased Transmission Assets

Membership Application

Joining is easy! If you have not already, review the Benefits of EEI Membership page for an overview of the products and services available to you as an International Member. To begin the application process, follow the steps below:

  1. Request a dues quote:

    If your company is a full operating utility, print the Operating Utility Data Request Form , complete, and fax it to us at +1-202-508-5080.

    If your company is Wholesale/Generation/Distribution-only, print the  Generation Company Data Request Form , complete, and fax it to us at +1-202-508-5080.

    If your company is a transmission company, print the Transmission Company Data Request Form , complete, and fax it to us at +1-202-508-5080.

  2. EEI staff will review your information and reply with a dues quote, usually by the next business day.
  3. Send in your Application Letter:
    To complete the application process, print out the Application Letter  and return it via fax at +1-202-508-5080.
  4. Upon receipt of your application materials, you will receive a letter confirming your EEI Membership, along with a Welcome Package that will include your Company ID and password for accessing members-only sections of the EEI Web site.
  5. The EEI Board of Directors formally admits International Affiliate Members at their quarterly meetings each January, March, June and September.
