State and Local Policies
Electric companies are working in their states to provide reliable, cost-effective electric service within a sound regulatory framework. Policymaking at the state and local level is dynamic and wide-ranging. State regulators and lawmakers across the U.S. are addressing an array of important issues, from retail competition to resource procurement. In some areas, local governments are considering takeovers of the electric system. EEI provides resources to help our members address the challenges of state restructuring, understand regulatory and legislative trends in the states, and confront emerging local issues.
