Federal Programs

The U.S. government offers information about the climate change issue, and also programs that seek to reduce the nation’s emissions of greenhouse gases.  

• Greenhouse Gases, Climate Change, and Energy
  A brochure from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), which presents an overview of the climate change issue
• Climate VISION (Voluntary Innovative Sector Initiatives: Opportunities Now)
  President Bush has set an ambitious national goal for reducing greenhouse gas intensity—the amount of greenhouse gases emitted per dollar of GDP—by 18 percent over 10 years. To achieve this goal, the Administration enacted this voluntary public-private program.
• Climate Leaders
  A number of power companies have developed long-term goals to reduce their emission of greenhouse gases through the U.S. EPA's  program.
