Key Duties and Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will be to analyze P&L's related to energy and environmental costs and make adjustments, enhancements, and other fine tuning to minimize expenditures and reduce costs as well as comply with all City ordinances, rules, and codes related to environmental services.
Decisions will include use of proven methods to implement energy efficiency and green practices and resolve daily operational issues.
Education and Qualifications

Bachelors Degree

Five (5) years experience as an Energy and Environmental Manager in the retail or
restaurant sectors

Wawa's Store Operations Services Department is recruiting for the position of Energy Manager
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

Proactively identify energy usage improvement and savings opportunities and work with management to initiate change with the goal of improving overall company performance.

Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Real Estate and Corporate/Retail Accounting to improve corporate profitability and support strategic initiatives.
-
Conduct building energy audits to identify major energy consumption areas and optimize equipment operation. Recommend sound policies directed toward energy conservation and pursue an aggressive program to reduce company costs for energy.

Monitor all facilities design and construction activities as relates to energy management, make recommendations for improvements.
-
Develop long-range plans for implementing innovations and alternative energy requirements.
-
Review and negotiate energy purchase agreements and make recommendations regarding energy fuel selection.
-
Provide detailed and accurate ad-hoc financial research and studies for Facilities Dept and Finance management as needed.
-
Develop training options and/or improvement plans to ensure the best operation in the a area of energy equipment maintenance.
-
Compile utility budgets and energy conservation measure cost estimates based upon documented program needs and utilize consultants when necessary to identify energy conservation measures.

Maintain liaison with equipment suppliers in order to conduct bidding process for equipment upgrades and retrofits.

Review and recommend maintenance supply and equipment purchases to ensure energy efficient replacements are being specified.

Pursue outside funding sources (rebates) for equipment retrofits.

Assume responsibility for compiling, maintaining, and filing all energy reports, billings, and other documents required.

Implement the policies established by federal, state, and local law in the area of energy conservation.

Perform daily operations for energy management analysis, reporting and budgeting functions for the Facilities Dept.
-
Prepare monthly and ad-hoc detailed analyses for Facilities Dept. and certain administrative departments, ensuring each analysis provides value and actionable information for management to react to energy management issues or opportunities.

Create analyses and perform research on budget variances for Facilities Dept. Develop and maintain key business performance measures. Present financial information to Store Operation Services as needed.

Evaluates efficiency of current energy management programs.
