Ten Tools for Defeating Government Takeovers

TAKEOVER DEFENSE RESOURCES
When facing a public power takeover, you'll need to arm yourself with a multi-faceted stategy. Edison Electric In- stitute (EEI) has developed a tactical guide to help, called New Public Power Takeovers. It includes advice on how to organize allies, communicate effectively, and as a last resort, how to defeat a takeover at the ballot box. The guide also includes a list of €€rms (below) that have been active in consulting with utilities about takeover attempts and conducting government takeover feasibility studies. EEI actively tracks municipal takeover challenges and developments across the country and is a source of information for companies experiencing challenges.
