EEI’s 2007 Transmission and Wholesale Markets School

Edison Electric Institute and Christensen Associates Energy Consulting present EEI's 2007 Transmission and Wholesale Markets School, an accredited course with the University of Wisconsin.  The five-day course provides a review of market design, transmission pricing, expansion planning, and operational issues with an emphasis on the institutional dimensions of policy.  When you join us, you will be engaged with a team of well known experts and seasoned veterans who will describe the current thinking on pricing and market design.

Proposed session topics for this year's program include:

  • FERC's Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT);
  • Power system engineering;
  • RTO and non-RTO approaches to organizing markets;
  • Wholesale Market Challenges and Reform;
  • Transmission expansion and investment;
  • LMP pricing;
  • Corporate enforcement and compliance;
  • Regional transmission planning;
  • Integration of renewables;
  • Ensuring Reliability; and
  • Resource adequacy.

This course also features panel discussions on policy issues and case studies from NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO, MISO, International Transmission Company, and American Transmission Company.

Our course articulates the technical and institutional issues on reliability, market reform, and competition and presents alternatives to help market players gain a comprehensive foundation and further understanding of electric market design.
