2008 Transmission and Wholesale Markets School Edison Electric Institute and Christensen Associates Energy Consulting present EEI's 2008 Transmission and Wholesale Markets School, an accredited course with the University of Wisconsin. The five-day course provides a review of market design, transmission pricing, expansion planning, and operational issues with an emphasis on the institutional dimensions of policy. When you join us, you will be engaged with a team of well known experts and seasoned electric industry leaders who will describe the current thinking on pricing and market design. Our course articulates the technical and institutional issues on reliability, market reform, and competition and presents alternatives to help market players gain a comprehensive foundation and further understanding of electric market design and practice. This year's program features panel discussions on policy issues and case studies from NYISO, Entergy, Southern Company, The Midwest ISO, and FirstEnergy Corporation, as well as a keystone session on Increasing Costs and Regulatory Uncertainty presented by EEI's own David K. Owens. Electric Utility Boot CampFurther, for those students who are interested in preparing for the Transmission and Wholesale Markets School with an intensive course in the basics of transmission and wholesale markets, this year we are offering an introductory course in electric utility issues.
