EEI Urges Lawmakers to Support A Motion to Strike Section 103 of H.R. 2337 June 12, 2007 The House Committee on Natural Resources this week will vote on amendments to H.R. 2337, the Energy Policy Reform and Revitalization Act. Section 103 of that bill raises new barriers to the siting of electric transmission lines. A strong transmission grid is critical to electric companies’ ability to deliver affordable, reliable electricity to electricity consumers throughout the country. Our growing economy, expanding population, and increasing use of renewable energy sources such as wind generation require investment in the transmission system to meet future demands for electricity.
