The future of transportation is electric, and Edison Electric Institute, the national association of electric companies, cordially invites you to experience it on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, on the National Mall in front of the Capitol Reflecting Pool (just off 3rd Street N.W., between Madison and Jefferson).
At noon, EEI President Thomas R. Kuhn and Pepco President Thomas H. Graham will speak on the electric power industry's efforts to create the infrastructure needed to support PEVs (plug-in electric vehicles). And you'll discover how electricity can drive the country to a more secure, low-carbon energy future. Also, Kuhn is one of 15 consumers nationwide who has been handpicked by Chevrolet to be the first to drive the Volt. He will share with you his personal comments and reactions about driving and charging the new PEV.
In addition to the noon briefing, a demonstration and Q&A session will be held at 11:00 a.m. and again at 1:00 p.m. to give you a hands-on opportunity to learn about the Volt and electric charging stations. The PEV event tent will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served throughout.
