he U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy have presented 14 shareholder-owned electric power companies with ENERGY STAR awards for their
outstanding contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency.
“Energy efficiency grows more important each year,” said Thomas R. Kuhn, President of Edison Electric Institute. “And this year’s winning ENERGY STAR electric companies have taken extraordinary steps to deliver the benefits of energy efficiency to their customers. On behalf of the entire shareholder-owned electric power industry, I congratulate them on their efforts to move the industry and the nation toward a more energy efficient future.”
The electric companies won their awards for their long-term commitment to the ENERGY STAR program, for being an outstanding ENERGY STAR partner of the year, and for their exceptional efforts in promoting ENERGY STAR-rated homes and products.
