 ENERGY STAR® Award Winners 

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy presented 11 electric companies with the 2010 ENERGY STAR® award for their outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency. The winning electric companies were among 110 award winners chosen from more than 17,000 businesses and organizations participating in the ENERGY STAR® program.

The winning electric companies were honored for their work in one of three major award categories: Sustained Excellence, Partner of the Year, and Excellence.

Listed below are the 2010 ENERGY STAR® Award winning electric companies:

Sustained Excellence

  • APS (Arizona Public Service)
  • CenterPoint Energy

Partner of the Year

  • Georgia Power

ENERGY STAR® Award for Excellence

  • Commonwealth Edison

ENERGY STAR® was introduced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through increased energy efficiency. Today, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, ENERGY STAR® offers businesses and consumers energy-efficient solutions to save energy, money, and help protect the environment for future generations. More than 12,000 organizations are ENERGY STAR® partners committed to improving the energy efficiency of products, homes, buildings, and businesses.
