The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy presented 11 electric companies with the 2010 ENERGY STAR® award for their outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency. The winning electric companies were among 110 award winners chosen from more than 17,000 businesses and organizations participating in the ENERGY STAR® program. The winning electric companies were honored for their work in one of three major award categories: Sustained Excellence, Partner of the Year, and Excellence. Listed below are the 2010 ENERGY STAR® Award winning electric companies:
