Fireplaces
  • Electric fireplaces offer the ambiance and warmth of a traditional fireplace, without the hassle of chopping wood, storing wood, cleaning up all of the ashes, drafts from chimney flues, and the heat (and money!) lost going up the chimney. With electric fireplaces, you don't have to worry about ventilation requirements or carbon monoxide detectors.
  • Some sample web sites for products are shown below:

Roomba, the Robot Vacuum Cleaner

  • Introduced in 2002, the rechargeable vacuum cleaner uses sophisticated technology to make sure a floor or carpet is dust and dirt free.  It is less than 4 inches high, 13.5 inches wide, and weighs in at about 6 pounds (with the battery), and it retails for $200 from various catalogues.  It can clean a room as large as 15 feet by 20 feet.
  • Some web sites with information are shown below:

Scooba, the Floor Washing Robot

First there was Roomba for your carpets.  Now, scheduled to be released in early 2006, look for Scooba, the robot that washes, scrubs, and dries your floor!  Visit the Web site for manufacturer information.
