Rate Change Monitor
Do you have difficulty keeping up with current electricity rate changes and getting a handle on what you pay for electricity throughout the country? With today's volatility, energy companies are applying for new rates often, and in some cases several times per year! Keeping up with these changes across utility service territories, interstate and nationally, is an overwhelming task. The Edison Electric Institute has performed the detailed research of finding all new, publicly available rate activity and placed it into one low-cost tool. EEI’s Rate Change Monitor tracks current rate cases and displays them online in an easy-to-read format. Included in this subscription is EEI's Typical Bills and Average Rates Report, a survey of net monthly electric bills and average cost per kilowatthour to the customer. EEI’s Rate Change Monitor presents every active rate case on one page with a concise abstract that explains why the rates are changing, and what the impact will be. The implementation date is clearly stated, and all links supporting the information are listed. The Rate Change Monitor is updated approximately once a month or as the need warrants and the Typical Bills and Average Rates Report is delivered to subscribers in the Summer and in the Winter of the current year. Some products only follow actual filings, missing important pass-through costs like fuel cost adjustments. Other products have too much information providing several pages of reading but no real concise point. The Rate Change Monitor is the solution to quickly getting to the information that you see most relevant. For even faster sorting, EEI provides the rate cases in a M.S. Excel format that allows you to sort by utility, state or date of impact. If you are managing energy costs across 50 states streamlining your regulatory research is key. This is the perfect tool to keep abreast of the rate activity that affects your electric utility spending. The following information is included in the Rate Change Monitor:
