EEI Statement on National Cyber Strategy

WASHINGTON (September 20, 2018) – Edison Electric Institute (EEI) President Tom Kuhn issued the following statement in response to the publication of the Trump Administration's National Cyber Strategy:

"Protecting the energy grid is the electric power industry's top priority, and we commend the Administration for its continued focus on the protection of critical infrastructure.

"The release of the National Cyber Strategy is an important next step in our continued industry-government partnership, and through the CEO-led Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council (ESCC) we look forward to working with the Departments of Energy and Homeland Security, and the rest of our government partners to protect the energy grid. The coordinated industry-government response to Hurricane Florence shows how effective and critical our partnership is when dealing with natural disasters, as well as physical and cyber security threats."
