EEI Statement on Newly Appointed NERC President and CEO
WASHINGTON, DC (March 16, 2018) – Edison Electric Institute (EEI) President Tom Kuhn today issued the following statement on the appointment of James “Jim” B. Robb as president and chief executive officer of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC).

“EEI looks forward to working with Jim in his new role as president and chief executive officer of NERC. He has a deep understanding of the reliability of the North American bulk power system and brings extensive experience interacting with a diverse group of stakeholders, including the electric power industry.

“NERC serves an important role in ensuring the effective and efficient reduction of risks to the reliability and security of the energy grid. EEI and NERC work across the sector, and with government and industry partners, to ensure the ongoing protection of the energy grid from specific threats and from cyber and physical security risks.

“We congratulate the Board of Trustees and Interim President and CEO Charles Berardesco on a quick and effective search. Their work to make this transition has been commendable, and we are committed to continuing our work with them under Jim’s leadership.”
