SUMMARY   Responsible for managing all demand-side and supply-side energy initiatives and expenses for Advance operations in addition to all waste and recycling streams with the overall goal of minimizing risk exposure to the Advances energy portfolio while maximizing savings in occupancy costs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and direction for the entire Energy team including multiple team members, analyst, administrator, and coordinator levels. Collaborate with all departments within and outside of Real Estate representing energy managements position and initiatives.  Responsible to develop and execute AAPs strategic energy plan including carbon measurement, offsets and the long term plan for energy related environmental issues. Expense and capital forecasting and guidance developed for the finance and accounting departments. Annual budgeting process for electricity, gas, water, and waste and recycling streams for all AAP operations. Responsible to provide strategic demand management plan to include: financial analysis, cost benefit strategy and ROI guidelines.  Service provider contract negotiation, execution, project oversight and post project due diligence on all energy efficiency projects for stores, DCs, warehouses, and corporate operations. Energy Efficiency applications include but are not limited to energy efficient lighting, energy management systems, EMS hardware and software upgrades, green roof deployments, solar deployments, and distributed generation. Responsible to develop and execute strategic plan for all Electricity and Natural Gas procurement. Leverage all open market opportunities for electricity and natural gas. Develop risk benefit analysis to include best practices for market exposure. Management of all pricing, products, and resources in all deregulated market positions, considering existing contracts in place, all rate cap expirations, prices to beat, and ongoing supplier due diligence. Responsible for developing energy systems and best practices for all energy related equipment and systems used in new store construction and retrofits of existing stores. Including but not limited to:  EMS, HVAC, interior and exterior lighting, solar, and wind.

QUALIFICATIONS 
•  All MS Office Applications.
•  Advanced statistics simulations (experience not required but a plus include Monte Carlo Simulations).
•  Understanding of and experience with basic financial analysis.
•  Understanding of data normalization.
•  Understanding of basic statistics calcs (Std Dev, variance, mean, median, mode, etc).
•  Basic understanding of NYMEX Natural gas contracts.
•  Basic understanding of commercial electricity rate structures.
•  Strong experience with MS Excel Charts and Graphs.
•  Candidate must have the ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables.
•  To be successful in this role, candidate must adapt to changing markets, as well as state and federal legislation affecting short-term and long-term energy prices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; with 4-5 years related experience andor training in financial or utility analysis; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  Directly supervises multiple Team Members in the Energy Section.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  To apply, please send your resume to melannie.schultz@advance-auto.com.   

Energy Manager – Radio Shack, Ft. Worth, TX

The Energy Manager will be responsible for the HVAC World Stat control system, HVAC assess management, provide assistance to the HVAC service department during peak times, manage rebate programs and research/provide recommendation for energy saving in high usage stores.  Manage and control utility costs for electricity, gas, water, and sewer services to ensure monthly expenditures are reasonable, cost savings are obtained where possible, and price increase are controlled to the extent allowed by regulatory authorities.  Provide consultation or expert advice on matters of significance to management.   Must be able to work with numbers and analyze different reports; knowledge of different computer programs and financial models; be able to work with people inside and outside RadioShack Corporation; must be able to work on multiple projects; and the ability to meet changing deadlines.
