Energy Program Developer  -  Engineering Svcs Mgr-1000041496

As the Low Carbon Initiative - Energy Program Developer you will develop large, enterprise-wide, capital intensive programs which reduce the Bank of America's dependence on "brown" energy sources.  You will work closely with cross functional teams to simultaneously develop several programs, transition those programs to implementation teams, and support the implementation team as a subject matter expert.   The portfolio covers more than 100 million square feet, with a utility spend of more than a million dollars a day.   This role reports to the Energy Capital Manager. 
The role will include the following responsibilities.

  • Leverage your development experience to identify and prioritize a pipeline of programs that drive $20-100MM per year of low carbon  projects.
  • For top priority programs, put your leadership skills to work leading energy consultants, finance experts, supply chain, and other team members, in the development of a detailed business plan for highest priority programs.
  • Use your sales skills to internally sell detailed business plans for each program.
  • Coordinate with other lines of business in the bank, and identify how your programs could leverage or help grow the bank's Energy & Sustainability business.
  • Use your subject management expertise, to support the Low Carbon Initiative implementation team, as they implement the programs you have developed. 
  • Own and optimize the results of the programs, by developing performance assurance process, and any corrective actions required.
  • Integrate the performance assurance process into Business As Usual energy management practices.

Qualifications/Required Skills

• A Bachelors or advanced degree
• Ten Years experience in identifying, cost estimating, contracting, and project managing, multi-million dollar energy  efficiency or renewable energy projects.
• Experience with managing energy for a portfolio of properties or similar experience developing energy capital projects for an ESCO or owner.
• Good understanding of financial modeling of energy projects.
• Demonstrated experience in achieving project ROI performance.
• Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Desired Skills
•  P.E.
• Experience developing energy projects or programs for large portfolios
• Significant experience developing onsite renewable energy projects.
• Experience in biomass and waste-to-energy projects.
• Good understanding of energy market and deregulated energy purchasing
• LEED AP
• CEM - Certified Energy Manager
• Experience with performance contracting agreements and savings guarantees
