EEI's Emergency Response Awards recognize member companies that put forth outstanding efforts to restore service promptly to the public following a storm or natural disaster.
The awards are announced in two categories: Emergency Recovery Award (for companies directly impacted) and Emergency Assistance Award (for companies that come to the aid of another company).
Nominations
Nominations are due in December 2011. The 2011 awards will recognize accomplishments from December 2010 through December 2011. All EEI member utility companies, U.S. or international affiliates, are eligible and may nominate themselves or any other EEI member. The awards will be presented in March 2012, in conjunction with the EEI CEO Conference in Washington, D.C.
* Please note - in a change from previous years, there are now separate nomination forms for each category.
The nomination form(s) must be:
- Approved by the CEO of an EEI member company.
- Accompanied by the required questionnaire and a summary of no more than three pages.
- Received by the deadline: December 16, 2011.
Selection and Judging
A panel of judges, including former EEI chairmen, will review nominations and select the winners. Selections will be based on a company’s ability to respond to a crisis swiftly and efficiently, overcome difficult circumstances, utilize unique or innovative recovery techniques, communicate effectively with customers, and restore service promptly. Awards are announced and presented at EEI’s Spring Board and Chief Executive Meetings in March.
