Bradley J. Viator II

Brad Viator is Executive Director of External Affairs for the Edison Electric Institute (EEI). Mr. Viator’s primary responsibilities include outreach to state elected officials, including state legislators, governors, and attorneys general. He manages EEI’s online advocacy community, We Stand For Energy​, and regularly serves as a spokesperson on behalf of the industry in public forums.

Brad launched EEI’s public affairs program in 2015 and co-leads EEI’s cross functional state practice The state practice focuses on emerging industry policy trends on key topics including energy storage, data analytics, cyber security at the distribution level, smart communities, and electrification. Before joining EEI in 2011, Mr. Viator worked at the National Association of Realtors (NAR), focusing on electoral and legislative advocacy for federal elected officials. 

Prior to moving to Washington, D.C., Mr. Viator did extensive political campaign work at the local, state, and federal levels in a number of western states. A native of Beaumont, Texas, Mr. Viator earned a B.S. in Political Science from Texas A&M University. He lives in Arlington, VA with his wife, Jessica, and three young children, James, Luke, and Juliette.​
