Fortress Information Security

Power utilities rely on a digital network of third parties to conduct their business.  These third parties provide many benefits, but they also create opportunities for cyber threats. NERC CIP-013-1 requires that you assess cyber security risk to the Bulk Electrical Systems (BES) from vendor products or services.

Fortress Information Security is the only company that connects assets and vendors in a holistic approach.  Fortress currently secures 10% of the US Power Grid with asset and vendor management solutions. Fortress not only works with the third-party vendors to fill in missing information but will also provide continuous monitoring of business and cyber-risk to the network members.

Fortress is launching the new Asset to Vendor Network, that will increase the rate at which organizations can achieve security and compliance and decrease or eliminate their costs.

Member organizations can access vendor and patch data through the Network. The Network replaces the traditional manual process, which is time-consuming and highly subjective, with an accurate, scalable, cost-effective automated solution. It enables standardized risk assessments and vulnerability patch availability. Members of the Asset to Vendor Network will benefit from total cost reduction.

Member organizations have the option to provide their prior completed vendor assessments to the network to be made available to other organizations and receive a royalty on the proceeds. If you would like more information about joining the Asset to Vendor Network for utilities, please contact Fortress Information Security at 407-232-5992, or via email at
