Transmission Distribution Metering & Mutual Assistance
Sunday, October 1, 2017 - Wednesday, October 4, 2017
Hyatt Regency Houston
1200 Louisiana St Houston, TX 77002 UNITED STATES

Tropical Storm Harvey had devastating effects in Texas, and many of your companies have been part of the Mutual Assistance restoration efforts.  The show of support within our industry has been outstanding.  Thank you to all that have contributed.

As recovery work continues in Texas, the message is clear: Texas and the city of Houston are moving forward and are open for business.  After much thought and consideration, and consistent with our industry's culture of solidarity and mutual assistance, EEI's semi-annual Transmission, Distribution, Metering, and Mutual Assistance (TDM&MA) conference will go forward as scheduled, October 1-4 in Houston, TX.  We recognize that this conference will be unique from previous TDM&MA conferences for a number of reasons.  However, we hope that you will consider attending this conference in Houston, as our industry's sense of community and solidarity is more important than ever.

Many of our members, event sponsors, and industry associates continue to engage in ongoing restoration efforts and may not be able to attend-- we thank them for their continued service and dedication.  EEI is exploring the possibility of a service project for attendees that wish to be of service to the local community during our time in Houston.  We will share further details as they become available.

We have been working closely with our venue, the Hyatt Regency Houston.  The hotel did not sustain any damage.  We have been assured that the venue will be able to accommodate our group, and is looking forward to hosting us.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who have been impacted by Harvey and with those who are helping in the search and rescue, recovery, and power restoration efforts.

If you have any additional questions, please contact Judy Mastin at (202-508-5402 or

  • EEI’s TDM&MA Conference is the premier conference that focuses on transmission, distribution and metering as well as mutual assistance issues and best practices for the investor-owned electric utility community.  It is the only conference developed specifically by utilities with a focus on the key areas EEI Member companies view as strategically important.

This 2 ½ day conference addresses the critical engineering and operations areas that are important to transmission, distribution, metering and mutual assistance professionals.  Sessions are strategically focused and held in a setting, which allows attendees the opportunities to engage with speakers and subject matter experts.
