GridTalk Webinar
Thursday, February 22, 2018 - Thursday, February 22, 2018
Edison Electric Institute
701 Pennsylvania Ave, NW Washington, DC 20004-2696 UNITED STATES

Please join us for an EEI Grid Talk Webinar on Thursday, February 22, 2017, at 2:00 pm ET to hear Larry Wilkus, Director of Retail Rates at Westar Energy, discuss the outcomes of the Kansas Corporation Commission’s proceeding on private residential distributed generation (DG) issues.

In its September 2017 final order, the Commission ruled that private residential DG customers should be uniquely identified in the rate making process, current two-part rate design is problematic and that three-part rate design, or a grid charge would allow electric companies to better recover costs. The Commission also found that rates for private residential DG customers should be cost-based and exclude unquantifiable value of resource approach. Lastly, after a new rate design has been approved by the Commission, an education program must be implemented.

The webinar will focus on the details of the proceeding, the development of Westar Energy’s strategy and interactions with intervenors, and lessons learned throughout the process.

We hope you can join us for the discussion. Please contact Michelle Zaccagnino if you have any questions
