EEI and AGA Advanced Public Utility Accounting Training Course

  • EEI and AGA will be conducting their annual four-day programs on public utility accounting.  The courses are taught by expert utility instructors and respected leaders in the field.  These four-day programs will be held at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis and are open to everyone. 

    Advanced Public Utility Accounting:

    This course concentrates on complex and specific advanced accounting and industry topics plus timely accounting issues.  Participants should be experienced or knowledgeable in utility accounting due to the advanced nature of the material.  The objective of this course is to provide an advanced knowledge and understanding of public utility accounting, budget and current issues in the electric and gas industries.  The course is designed for utility industry professionals.

    This course qualifies for 32.5 hours of CPE in the fields of study of Accounting, Finance, Behavioral Ethics, Information Technology, and Specialized Knowledge - see the CPE notification under meeting documents for additional information regarding CPE.

  • Registration for this course is now open and will remain open until the date the course begins.  However, anyone that registers after August 4, 2017 will not have their name and contact information appear in the course materials due to printing requirements.

    Regular Registration Fee (if you register after July 1, 2017):

    • Non-member of EEI or AGA - $2,295

    Group Discount of $100 per person - applies to companies with 3 or more registrants

    Please use this link to reserve a room at the hotel.  Our special rate is $185 plus tax per night, single or double occupancy.  Important: The cut-off date for the special EEI/AGA hotel room rate is Monday, July 31, 2017. Reservations made after July 31, 2017 will be subject to availability and existing hotel rates.  Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. Check-out time is 12:00 noon.  Depending on meeting attendance, the hotel room block may fill up before the published cut-off date, so don’t delay registration.

    The hotel will honor the group rate 3 days before and 3 days after the training based on availability.

  • Air Transportation:

    Minneapolis is served by the Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport.  The Hyatt Regency Minneapolis is 13 miles/20 minutes from the Minneapolis – St. Paul International Airport. This hotel does not provide shuttle service.

    Ground Transportation:

    From airport to hotel: Runs between 4:30 AM – 11:00 PM. After 11:00 PM and before 4:30 AM, please call Super Shuttle to arrange pick up. Follow the signs for Hotel Shuttles and Scheduled Vans to the Ground Transportation Atrium. The Super Shuttle guest service desk is located near the center of the shuttle area. Service is available 24-hours.

  • The dress code is business-casual for all functions.  Please note that meeting room temperatures are generally cool and difficult to moderate – please bring appropriate attire for such conditions.
  • Minneapolis in August, the normal high temperatures average a high of 80°F and a low of 61°F with monthly average rainfall of 4.3 inches.  Please pack accordingly.
