BGE Partners With Hero Dogs
November 2017

Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE) has partnered with a local Maryland non-profit organization called Hero Dogs Inc. Hero Dogs provides service dogs to U.S. military veterans while focusing on improving the quality of life for veterans by raising, training, and placing service dogs free of charge.

Together, BGE and Hero Dogs created a campaign called BGE Hero Tails. BGE’s White Marsh Training Center is the proud sponsor of Hero Tails’ two puppies, Lincoln and Hunter.

Lincoln, a black labrador, and Hunter, a golden retriever, are two playful puppies in the process of training that focuses on assisting veterans with mobility, hearing, and psychological issues, including post-traumatic stress disorder. Lincoln and Hunter are named after veterans and BGE Senior Training Specialists Steve Lincoln and Bruce Hunter.

Raising and training service dogs can be costly, so the support for Hero Dogs is crucial in order for the program to reach its highest success. BGE plays an outstanding role to ensure that our nation’s veterans and their four-legged friends are properly taken care of and given the best of opportunities.

This is just another example of how electric companies play a role each and every day in the communities they serve.
