Giving Back: Central Hudson
October 2016

Electric companies and their employees across the country have a long history of giving back to local communities.

Recently, employees at Central Hudson, which serves areas of down-state New York, participated in a local United Way Day of Caring. Nearly 20 employees worked to clear away heavy brush, plant flowers, and disassemble broken fences in front of the Family House in Rosendale, New York. The Family House is a community staple, serving as an emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth. It also offers counseling and life skills training.
The United Way Day of Caring is just one way Central Hudson gives back. The company has a commitment to integrity, a dedication to customers, and a determination to improve the quality of life for others. Central Hudson employees also lead a more comprehensive United Way campaign, and campaign donations are generously matched by the company.
“We believe that contributing to the communities we serve benefits everyone, and that our local United Way agencies are effective in providing needed funds and support to organizations that truly make a difference,” said Michael L. Mosher, President and CEO of Central Hudson.
