Giving Back: PPL Electric Utilities
November 2016

PPL Electric Utilities’ (PPL’s) perspective on giving back is simple: The spirit of community volunteerism and philanthropy is ingrained in the company’s culture.

Serving customers means delivering safe, reliable, affordable, and clean energy. In addition, PPL’s employees believe that empowering communities is just as important.

PPL’s blog, PPL Stories, states, “We continually invest our time and resources into our communities, whether that means cleaning up neighborhood parks, transforming a homeless shelter into a warm environment, or providing funds to support summer learning programs, just to name a few.”

From the United Way to the Wildlands Conservancy, PPL knows that partnering with existing organizations will help the company reach more people in more communities.

“[Without PPL], we wouldn’t be able to operate our day-to-day operations and reach children, youth, and families, giving them a safe place to come and be themselves,” said Mike McElhinney, Director of Camping Services at the YMCA’s Camp Kresge.

Alana Roberts, a Regional Affairs Director with PPL, said, “We’ve always been a part of the communities we serve, and we will be in the future.”
