Brian L. Wolff Honored as a Leading Association Lobbyist for 2013

Washington, DC (February 20, 2014) — Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Senior Vice President Brian L. Wolff was recognized today by Association TRENDS as a leading association lobbyist for 2013. This award, presented during the annual “Salute to Association Excellence” luncheon, recognizes association lobbyists who make a difference for their constituencies.

“Brian has a strong and proven track record of advocating successfully in Washington and in the states on behalf of EEI’s member companies,” said EEI President Tom Kuhn. “We are very proud of the results he achieves for our industry, and we commend him for winning this distinguished award.”

Wolff was selected for this award based on his outstanding leadership of EEI’s comprehensive “Defend My Dividend” campaign that educated lawmakers, electric power industry stakeholders, and investors about the importance of maintaining low dividend tax rates that are on par with the tax rates for capital gains. Congress took action to permanently link dividend and capital gains tax rates early last year.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized by Association TRENDS. The Defend My Dividend campaign was truly a team effort, and I share this award with both my EEI colleagues and with our member companies,” said Wolff. “Our industry faces a number of challenges right now, and EEI will continue its advocacy and outreach efforts as we work to achieve favorable outcomes in key policy debates.”
