EEI Commends House Passage of H.R. 1109
WASHINGTON (September 14, 2018)  Edison Electric Institute (EEI) President Tom Kuhn issued the following statement today commending Congress for passing H.R. 1109, which amends Section 203 of the Federal Power Act.

EEI applauds congressional passage of H.R. 1109, which clarifies the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s authority over mergers and acquisitions of electric company assets. This legislation, which now heads to President Trump for his signature, will help reduce excessive regulatory costs for EEI’s member companies and our customers.

“In particular, we appreciate the leadership demonstrated on this issue by Representatives Tim Walberg (R-MI) and Debbie Dingell (D-MI) in the House, and Senators James Inhofe (R-OK) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) in the Senate. Each has been a persistent and tireless advocate for this important legislation.”
