EEI Statement on EPA's Cost-Benefit Analysis Memo
WASHINGTON (May 22, 2019) - Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Vice President for Environment and Natural Resources Quin Shea today issued the following statement on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) cost-benefit analysis memo.

“The cost-benefit analysis is an important part of the regulatory process, and the Edison Electric Institute supports the Environmental Protection Agency’s desire to establish solid precedent on this issue. Consistent with Administrator Wheeler’s direction, we urge EPA to set forth principles that could be applied prospectively in a wide array of future environmental rulemakings. The rulemaking process offers EPA the best opportunity to take a broader look at when and how costs and benefits should be considered moving forward, which ultimately will benefit customers.”
