EEI Statement on the Passing of FERC Commissioner Kevin McIntyre
WASHINGTON (January 3, 2019) - Edison Electric Institute (EEI) President Tom Kuhn and EEI Executive Vice President Phil Moeller today issued the following statements in remembrance of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Commissioner Kevin McIntyre.

"We are saddened to learn of the passing of FERC Commissioner Kevin McIntyre, who for decades was a thought leader with a deep understanding of the electric power industry and federal energy policy," said EEI President Tom Kuhn. "He had a strong commitment to public service and to maintaining civil public discourse. On behalf of the Edison Electric Institute and our member electric companies, I extend my deepest condolences to Kevin's family and to his colleagues.”

“Chairman McIntyre was one of the most energetic and thoughtful persons I’ve ever worked with,” said EEI Executive Vice President Phil Moeller. "I knew him from his private-sector days, and my respect for him grew as he took on the challenge of leading the Commission. He was a visionary who worked in a bipartisan way to improve the lives of American citizens. He will be missed, yet his legacy will live on with the Commission.”
