EEI to Wall Street: Delivering America’s Energy Future
New York (February 6, 2019) – Edison Electric Institute (EEI) President Tom Kuhn, Executive Vice President of Business Operations and Regulatory Affairs Phil Moeller, Executive Vice President of Public Policy and External Affairs Brian Wolff, and Senior Vice President of Energy Supply and Finance Richard McMahon today briefed Wall Street analysts, bankers, and investors on the state of the U.S. electric power industry. Kuhn, Moeller, Wolff, and McMahon discussed a range of issues, including the clean energy transformation, the electrification of transportation, customer solutions, infrastructure priorities, energy grid security, storm and wildfire response, tax reform implementation, ESG/sustainability reporting, and the current political and federal regulatory landscape.

“Each February, ou
r Wall Street briefing provides a terrific opportunity to reflect on all that we accomplished over the past year on behalf of EEI’s member companies, America’s investor-owned electric companies, and their customers,” said Kuhn. “Each day, EEI’s member companies are transitioning to cleaner energy resources and reducing their carbon emissions; modernizing the energy grid and building smarter energy infrastructure; and delivering innovative energy solutions in a rapidly changing world, while sustaining financial health in a positive regulatory environment.”

“In 2018, EEI’s member companies continued to make significant strides in carbon reduction, deployment of renewables, transportation electrification, and more,” said Kuhn.

“In 2019, we are advocating for policies that focus on outcomes, support progress, and accelerate innovation,” added Kuhn. “We are working with the Administration and with policymakers on both sides of the aisle in Congress, and in the states, to find common ground and to advance policies that benefit our customers. We can, and we must, work together to achieve meaningful progress with our nation’s energy priorities. EEI’s member companies are committed to putting their customers first, to maintaining reliability, and to keeping electricity prices low for all customers.”
