Covid-19 Policy

By registering for and attending any EEI event, whether at EEI’s offices or at another venue, you confirm that you have read and understand the information in this notice. Attending an EEI meeting is a voluntary opportunity, and no attendee is under any obligation to attend. You agree that you are responsible for checking and complying with all legal requirements and government guidance aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19, as it relates to you and your personal circumstances, including any self-isolation if you have been in close contact with any person with COVID-19 or if you are experiencing any symptoms.

Attending meetings and events carries an inherent risk of infection. When a meeting or event is held on EEI premises, EEI will take steps to comply with legal requirements and government guidance aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19, but the risk of infection cannot be eliminated. When a meeting or event is hosted at an outside venue, you acknowledge that EEI has no control over the arrangements at that venue, nor has any responsibility for the sufficiency, quality, accuracy, or effectiveness of any health and safety measures taken. Accordingly, in all cases, you acknowledge that it is your responsibility to take all necessary precautions before, during, or after the meeting or event to minimize the risk of infection.

Except where EEI has failed to comply with legal requirements, EEI is not responsible for any illness, injury, or other damage, cost, or liabilities related, directly or indirectly, with COVID-19 incurred as a result of your attendance at a meeting or event, and you acknowledge that you attend at your own risk. If you test positive for COVID-19 or are exhibiting symptoms prior to an event or meeting, EEI may refund any registration fees you may have paid to attend, but EEI has no obligation to you regarding hotel or airlines costs or change fees.

Meeting Code of Conduct

EEI is committed to creating and fostering an environment in which everyone is respected and included. EEI employees and guests are expected to treat each other, vendors, EEI members, and the general public with respect at all times. At meetings, EEI does not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or bullying of any kind. If anyone experiences or witnesses discrimination, harassment, or bullying at an EEI meeting, they should report such behavior to any EEI Officer, to EEI’s Deputy General Counsel, Compliance and Corporate Affairs, or to EEI’s Human Resources Department. All EEI supervisors and officers have a duty to report any such behavior. Any report will be investigated by EEI’s Human Resources Department and the Office of the General Counsel. EEI reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to such reports, including removal from the premises, report to the proper law enforcement agencies, and denial of participation in future meetings.
